I've decided to re-start my blog page again after an aborted start about 2 yrs ago.
My primary excuse for the hiatus is that I didn't feel as if I had the time, or at least I didn't make enough time to compose the blogs. That time issue was only amplified by the fact that I felt that I had to make each post perfect, at least to my eyes. As a result, my previous posts would take days to write, going through many edits (most were even never published). Th e perfection issue was likely a holdover from my corporate days when one wanted to make sure your emails sounded well thought out and were concise; that they did not waste the time of those on the distribution list. I always compose best if I write something, and put it aside for an hour or so, and then pick it up again for a final edit. So this time around, my posts will be shorter and likely much more imperfect than before.
You may be asking, what is prompting this blogging re-start now?
The short answer is that myself, and a friend Ian, will be cycle touring from San Francisco to Pueblo, Colo starting in late May. Many friends who know about the trip have asked if we plan to blog the adventure. Well the answer now is Yes. I will blog and Ian plans post on Facebook. More details about the trip will be posted soon. The photo below shows me on a test ride of my new fully loaded touring bike.
Another factor in the blog restart is that three months ago we moved to St George, Utah. There is so much here to do and see outdoors, that I should not run out of blog topics for many years. I just need to make the time.
Mike
